Numerous guests praised the hotel's staff, characterizing them as friendly, efficient, helpful and attentive. One patron remarked, "The staff was extremely polite. I asked the desk clerk some directions. He left the desk and walked out to the corner of the block to orient me after giving me a very good map of Austin. Now that's service. The parking attendants were polite and prompt".
The hotel's location was enjoyed by many lodgers. They found it close to the State Capitol Building, downtown Austin, restaurants, highway access, 6th Street, the Austin Convention Center and public transit.
