"A bit noisy in the hallways especially from housekeeping in the morning."
John from Minneapolis, MN US rated Days Inn Chicago 8 out of 10 on June 04, 2006
"The main issue is it was eeeextremely noisy! No isolation from outer sounds. Only the closed door separated my room from the room of my neighbour. I heard almost each word they said. The second comment is the key: I asked to get a key instead of a card from my room, and this request was not met. Except these problems, everything was fine."

"One of the main problems with this hotel is its need for valet parking -- and the way that system seems to work. (1)The street on which one leaves a car is quite busy, as is traffic in the nearby area generally. It's difficult to access the front of the hotel if you're coming from the west ... there is no turn-around thats get you easily to the door, nor is there room for one to be built. (2) At the point where you leave your car, the curb is so high the passenger door on any standard car will scrape along the cement -- unless the car is an SUV. (3)It is recommended on the parking chit that one call the valet desk 20 minutes before needing the car. My first attempt at such a call (7:10 a.m.) produced no answer after 15 rings. Clearly in the early morning ... 6:30 to 9:30, say ... they may need more "valet runners" than usual, since lots of guests leave during that interval. (And I'd guess most -- perhaps all -- the guests there arrive in cars.) In my case, making the second request call 5 minutes later had no positive effect, although this time it was answered. When I got to the front door 20 minutes later my car keys were on the valet attendant's desk but there was no car. I had to re-order my car and point out the keys to the attendant. (4) He said "it will be 15 minutes" -- not unreasonable -- but it took fully 40 minutes for the attendant to retrieve my car ... this made me 10 minutes late for an appointment. The reason he gave for the delay was that my car had had another parked in front of it and couldn't be accessed. Yet for this valet service I paid $20 (parking fee for one night's stay), and I should have thought such a fee would guarantee me timely access to my vehicle. Despite the accolades this hotel has received, I found it very ordinary. Moreover, the people at the front desk -- while adequately polite -- were not particularly friendly: no smiles, no warmth ... just business."

"Even though this is an older hotel, the staff works very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to make certain that you get the best possible experience from your stay. From the moment I walked in the door, I got the type of service that I would expect to receive from a much more expensive hotel. The staff seemed to try to anticipate my needs."

At the Days Inn Chicago, our beautiful hotel rooms were designed with old world charm yet modern day convenience. Rooms and accommodations range from singles to executive rooms and suites with expanded amenities and comfortable living areas.

Above all, this Chairman's Award Property in Chicago is proud of its clean hotel rooms and friendly service. By the way, we've been triple sheeting our beds for years (adding a third sheet atop the blanket). Many rooms have duvets.
