The hotel's location was praised by many lodgers. They described it as central, and close to shopping, restaurants, the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, public transit, Grant Park, the Chicago Institute of the Arts and Navy Pier.
Numerous reviewers were pleased with the hotel's staff, and characterized them as friendly, professional and helpful with dining suggestions and directions. One patron remarked, "The staff couldent do enough for us, they were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Pedro and Tania were wonderful advising us on places of interest giving directions and even confirming our taxi to the airport".
Several guests enjoyed their accommodations at the hotel. They described their rooms as clean, well equipped and nicely decorated, with great river views and comfortable beds. A few travellers were disappointed with their lodgings, however, (see below).
