"Given my experience at Days Inns/Comfort Inns/Super 8s in the Midwest, I don't expect luxury at one, but this was definitely not as good as others I've stayed at. Its general air was of a place that had seen better days and was economizing in annoying ways. The outside access, on the east stairs, to the second level was a bit dangerous because of the tilt of the stairs. The service of providing a safe in the room wasn't explained at all. I ended up paying for a safe I never used. I signed an agreement, so I can't complain, but that agreement wasn't explained well. The continental breakfast didn't have much variety. The layout of the bathroom was cramped and not very efficient. It was also poorly cleaned since some corners and under the sink had spiderwebs. The fan in the bathroom was also not up to the task of ventilating the steam out. The mattresses on the bed were too soft. On my last night there my wife, suffering from sinus pain, took two hot baths. The resulting steam set the smoke alarm off, not an occurance that's happened before. The clerk on duty, after informed of the problem, simply walked up and took the battery out of the smoke alarm. The problem didn't seem handled in the most polite or safe way."
