"When I booked the room at this hotel they only had smoking rooms available and since we had such a good experience when we stayed at this hotel a year ago, I went ahead and reserved the room. My husband and I are ex-smokers so we figured the little bit of smoke smell in the room wouldn't bother us that much. When my husband and I and our 2 children opened the door of our hotel room the smoke smell was 'OVERWHELMING'! We've stayed in smoking rooms before but this was RIDICULOUS. I immediately called the front desk (at 8:30 in the evening) to see if they had ANYTHING else available. All they had was a whirlpool suite (which we couldn't afford), so we were stuck with the room. I think this hotel should consider shampooing the carpets, cleaning the drapes and changing the bedspreads a little more often in their smoking rooms. I think that even a smoker would have been overwhelmed by the smell. When we got into our van to leave the next morning we could still smell the smoke on our clothes. Very BAD experience. It would have been nice if they could have negotiated on the price of the whirlpool suite so our family could have enjoyed our stay."
