"This hotel as advertised on the internet along with the other south beach group hotels is not what you get when you step into this hotel. Up close and personal with the Hotel Shelley is very disappointing. What part of Art Deco is in this hotel - the bar???? It is dingy and grimy, no elevator, the hallways are so dark that you can bearly see where you are going. The paint is peeling everywhere throughout the hotel and the fixtures in the rooms are old and worn. Sure it looks new on the internet because the pictures are not up close they are far enough away to camouflage flaws. The room is thrown together. The rugs in the hallways are worn, dingy, and old. The rug in the room was old and worn. It was disgusting. How can you offer a room like that for $169.50. That is robbery!!! This place needs a facelift. I did not want to sleep in the bed. I requested additional bedding to put on top of the bedding provided. There is not enough room on this survey to discuss the shower. It is ridiculous. I will never stay at this hotel again."
