"Day of arrival extremely hot - 90+. First room, 118 was hot, no air conditioning. Asked for a fan. When it didn't arrive, complained at desk. Was told room is over kitchen and is hot all the time! Was promptly moved to room 282 which overlooks carpark first, then looks out to river where swans swim morning and evening. Lovely to look at, very relaxing. Room larger than our hotel in London. Businesses in town open 9 a.m., close at 5--all!--except restaurants. Stay open to 10-11 p.m. Morning breakfast is English buffet, but you can have eggs made to order. Service good. Sunday dinner had wonderful salmon--fresh, moist and served hot. Glad we stayed here at the Swan and not the Moat Hotel which is directly across the river. Lobby at the Moat is dirty, stark, baren and stank of cigarette/cigar smoke. The windows across the river side needed a good cleaning! If you want a first class hotel, stay at the Swan Hotel."
