"The recommendation is conditional. For someone willing to walk a bit for public transportation or rent a car, or for someone who's willing to cook their own meals, it's not so bad. For a tourist hoping to see Barcelona for the first time, it's not quite as good. Not to be an ugly American, but .... No iron (not even at the front desk). No washcloths. AC worked inconsistently. And the hotel restaurant closed before its posted hours with no advance warning. That said, many of the staff members were very kind and helpful. (Some, of coruse, more so than others.) There's a cute little neighborhood behind the hotel with a small grocery store, a tapas bar, a pastry shop and a playground."
