Sri Lanka is an island nation known for being rich in culture, history, forests and diverse, scenic landscape. Sri Lanka was known as Ceylon until 1972 and is where the tea gets its name. Sri Lanka is also the third largest tea producing country in the world. There are nine provinces and twenty-five districts.
There are a number of heritage sites that preserve ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization across the island.
Golf courses, spas, waterfalls, resorts, and botanical gardens are just a few of the wonders of the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean". The island has several national parks, including four that are famous for elephant watching and one for leopards.
