Countries Revisited

Even if you've visited a country previously, there's a good chance that new places have opened since you last visited. There are also numerous special events that you can take advantage of during your visit.

Here are just a few highlights for your consideration:

Ireland

From July through September an international glass art festival, Waterford Presents Murano will be held. The festival will feature over 300 pieces of glass sculptures from the Betengo Collection. The festival will include an Italian night replete with gourmet dinners by gourmet chefs from Northern Italy. For additional information contact the Waterford Tourist Office, Tel: 051 875823 or visit http://www.artists-in-glass.com

Portugal

There's a new Puppet Museum located in the Convent das Bernardas, a building that has been deemed a National Heritage site. In 1998 the Lisbon City Council purchased this building, which was in a terrible state of disrepair. It then set about restoring the building that was founded as a convent in 1653. The museum was originally established in 1987, was disbanded in 1993 and reopened just under a year ago. Visit Portugal inSite, http://www.portugalinsite.pt/homepage.asp?ling=2 for additional information.

Austria

Enjoy Candlelight Concerts at Rosenburg Castle. Upcoming dates include September 3rd and 10th. For additional information (and other dates) contact, inquiries@info.wien.at or visit the Web site http://www.info.wien.at
