Travel Alberta-What Are You Doing This Summer?

EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 13, 2008 -- This special summertime issue will be packed with real people writing about their own experiences as urban explorers, giving unique, personal insights into their favourite tourist attractions and inviting readers to step inside each adventure for themselves. Visitors will be able to get the inside scope on Edmonton travel ideas and Calgary Travel ideas right from the people that experienced them!

To gather content for the issue, City Spice is running a Travel Alberta contest for the best suggestions, photos and videos of the premier hotspots to mix, mingle, and play in Calgary and Edmonton. The photograph that best represents summer in Edmonton or summer in Calgary will grace the August cover of City Spice, and a wide selection of stories and videos will be published along with the winners in the e-mag.

Contributors, including any aspiring writers and photographers, can submit a 500-750 word article, a photo, or a short video. Entries should address one or more of the following themes: dining, nightlife, arts and entertainment, festivals, and "What's in your neighbourhood?"

The style of the story, photo or video is left to the imagination. Contestants can tell about their adventures any way they choose, as long as no third parties are filmed or photographed. Any friend mentioned in written stories must be given an alias, though entrants can use their own names.

The contest is open to all residents in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba who have stories to share about Calgary and Edmonton. The two best articles (one each for Edmonton and Calgary) will win $1,000. Best cover photograph for each city wins $1,000, and $500 goes to the best video for each city. Contestants who enter in all three categories, could win up to $2,500!

The contest closes June 30, 2008.
