Some 3.3 million tourists visited Israel in 2014. All were sure to have touched base in Jerusalem except perhaps those flying directly to Eilat to scoop up the sunshine in the dreary winter months. Here is a Virtual Tour courtesy of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. For a listing of local events, please refer to Guide to Festvals in Israel.
The 620 mile long Israel National Trail is a hiking trail that crosses the entire length of the country from the deserts near Eilat in the south to Kibbutz Dan in the green mountains of the north. The Trail is being maintained by the the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel. Google Street View will photograph the length of of the Trail in the biggest mapping project ever undertaken.
