Hawthorn Suites Lafayette is south of the junction of Interstates 10 and 49, 10 miles from Vermilionville, and approximately three miles from Lafayette Regional Airport. The nearby Acadian Village is a replica of a 19th-century bayou town, depicting the life of Acadians in southern Louisiana. Buildings in the village include homes, a blacksmith shop, general store, and chapel. Another Acadian attraction is Vermilionville, a 23-acre Cajun/Creole heritage park that contains period homes, costumed staff, and a restaurant serving Cajun and Creole food.
