"I brought a big client and his family up to Atlanta on the 26th to attend the Braves-Nationals game at Turner Field as a way of thanking him for his business. On recommendation from Bryan Carter of the Braves organization, I booked three rooms at this hotel for my client and our families. Although the hotel was very convenient to Turner Field, we quickly discovered that the air conditioners in two of our three rooms were inoperative. They were blowing warm air and the rooms could not seem to get any cooler than about 85 degrees. After bringing this to the attention of the fron desk, we were informed that someone from the hotel's engineering deprtment looked at the unit in #1601 earlier in the day and determined that there was nothing he could do to remedy the problem. The units appeared to be old (20+ years and dirty) and probably leaked out all of their coolant. As such, they most likely need to be replaced. Some of the other guests that I spoke with while waiting at the front desk, mentioned to me that they had been in the hotel for several days already, and said that this had been an ongoing problem with their rooms and had not yet received any remedy. The hotel was completely sold out, therefore there were no other rooms available. No offer was ever made to make accomodations elsewhere, and, given that it was already past midnight, my client and I did not feel like driving all over town to find a room on a hit-and-miss basis. Moreover, it seemed like this problem was encountered in an abnormally high number of rooms. This was only underscored by discovering that the bedside alarm clock and lamp were not plugged in. When I pulled up the power strip to plug them in, I found bubble gum stuck to the switch. This is very poor customer service, and most certainly not what I am accustmed to when I stay at a Holiday Inn. In fact, it was way below the bar. I paid over $500 for the evening's stay, and I would appreciate some consideration for not receiving all that should have been delivered for the price.
