Good location but food is Focus for USA customers.
"Restaurant should be much better."

"Reservations clerk sent us and gave us keys TO THE WRONG ROOM. After almost one hour with maintenance and housekeeping unable to give us entry to the WRONG ROOM, we were told that instead of room 6313 listed on our map as our room, our room was actually room 6316. The point is that in an emergency, maintenance and housekeeping can't gain entry into a room?"

"Choices of food were limited - it was fast food type only, very few healthy options such as good salads, fresh vegatables, low calorie choices. Too much fried food. Also the choices were all packages and few ala carte options. The bed size options need to be updated. Only a king suite and double beds available. Queen size should be offered instead of doubles. With respect to the theme parks, we saw multiple rides being shut down for technical problems. It was an issue for our 9 year old as he missed some of the rides."

"It smelled really bad outside the rooms. Other than that, everything was ok or great. The service was very friendly and efficient."

"I thought the beds were to small, I would of liked a larger bed , or more options of bed sizes in the room when you have a child ."

"Although I liked the hotel, my complaints about the hygiene went nowhere. During my first evening at the hotel, I noticed some coffee stains on the floor by the sinks. Since I hadn't had coffee yet, it was obviously left over from the previous guest. After the room had ostensibly been cleaned the next day, the coffee stains were still there. I decided to wipe the stains up with a facecloth rather than live with them. When I rubbed the facecloth over a small patch of the bathroom floor, it came up filthy - literally black. I realized the coffee stain was the least of my problems. Clearly, the floor could not have been cleaned properly in some time. I put the facecloth in a plastic bag and took it to the front desk. The staff member called a manager who told me she would have housekeeping attend to it immediately. Nothing was ever done and I was basically forced to wear my flipflops in my room or walk in other people's dirt. Not very magical and not very responsive."

"Loved most things about this hotel except for the cleaning service. The only days we had the room cleaned well and the bed clothes changed...or the bed actually made well, was once after we tipped (first night...didn't tip again) and once after we complained (3rd night)because the bed was barely made and obviously not changed."

"My family was very pleased with the hotel. The grounds and landscaping were well-manicured and tidy. The staff was very attentive to our needs. When we arrived, our refrigerator was not working properly and within the hour, there was a new fridge in our room. Also, housekeeping brought us bed rails for our 2-year old son. The only complaint we had was the service in the food court area."

"I was in town for a nursing leadership convention. At the time that I registered for the meeting, I had to choose this hotel because the one housing the convention was totally booked. So, I was not the typical guest of this hotel, which caters to families. I missed not having room service available to me."

"I think the pool was the hit of the vacation. One complaint was not enough seating and the only available seats were usually behind trees, where you couldn't see your kids. One day the maid walked in on my husband. Lucky her! A final note, as I was cleaning up and packing to go I found a pair of girls underwear under the bed. I have two boys. GROSS! After telling the front desk, they just said sorry. Not enough."

"For the money we paid, we expected better quality bedsheets and towels, free internet access, free 1-800 calls, hand/body lotion, and a daily newspaper. The shower spray head could not be adjusted, and the left sink was slow to drain. Although the setting was attractive, we will probably not return."

"Service was excellent--staff was very friendly and helpful. Bus service was quite convenient--I'm certainly glad I didn't have to try to find my way around by myself. I don't think I ever had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. Disney's transportation is terrific!"

"The beds were the most comfortable I've slept in in years! I felt the rooms and service were nice, but a little overpriced, although to be fair, we weren't there long enough to take full advantage of the service."

"Only that prices for drinks were outrageous; $7.00 for a frozen margarita in a small glass. You should consider the pricing issue."

"How about a mini bar in the room? Not just for beer or wine, but food. The hotel doesn't have a great variety of food options."

"The hotel and the staff were very good, BUT we booked our room back in June and they didn't have the room we booked available. We either had to take a room with a double bed or a smoking room. We ended up taking the smoking room, which was a risk because of my asthma, but fortunately the wasn't bad. We did find it frustrating that our room wasn't held for us as we booked directly through Disney Vacations."

"Wait times for bus service to and from Downtown Disney, Epcot, and Disneyland were longer than expected (about 20 to 35 minutes). Food service could be simplified and improved with one buffet style restaurant for breakfast or snacks. Current multi-vendor system is cumbersome and inefficient. No food service are midnight available except vending machines. Water shuttle service to Downtown Disney were a little erratic with inadequate information given. Water facet dripping steadily in bathtup. Air conditioning is noisier than it needs to be and makes it harder for me to sleep well (I am a light sleeper)."
Mark from Calgary, AB CA rated Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter 5 out of 10 on July 01, 2005
"We were very disappionted with the standard of room it was samll, There were 3 of us my wife, son and myself and compaired to other hotels we have stayed in, in the USA it was very small The restaurant was a fast food court not much better than a works restaurant, I thought the staff were just going through the motions and at times were nearing on being rude. Also it was not as clean as I would expect. For the size of complex the pool was adequate. I have stayed in better hotels at less cost, they are charging just for the Disney name. We stayed 7 nights out of a 14 night holiday and to be honest the two hotels we stayed in Fort Lauderdale and then back in Orlando, were far better value for money, rooms twice the size with a seperate lounge area and they had a complmentary breakfast in with the cost. I would not stay in a Disney complex hotel again, we chose this to celebrate our special needs sons 21st birthday, so the Disney experience was doulbly disappionting."

"Beautiful and quiet setting. Right on bus line for the free Disney shuttle to take you anywhere at Disney World. Clean and comfortable bed. Fun place for children. Convenient reasonably priced eatery. Highly recommend. We would go back there."

"It was an ok hotel. The bathrooms were beautiful. I loved the vintage styley they chose and the one in our room was set up nicely. It took a lot of walking to get from one room to another - I was there to visit other family on a Disney vacation. We took the boar ride to downtonw Disney for dinner and that was fun. The restaurants there are somewhat overpriced, but it is in a theme park. I would reccommend the hotel if someone asked me where to stay if they were going on a vacation to Disney World and did not want to drive. I personally would choose something a little farther away with more room for the same amount of money."

"The hotel in general was nice. My room was not! It was quite dusting in my room, which ended up bothering my girlfriend's allergies a little bit. Two out of the four drinking glasses where so dirty it made us second guess the other two. Apon check-out I told the gentlemen behind the counter about all of this. I wasn't sure how far it would get from his mouth so that is why I'm typing this little letter. Thank you"

"The Disney area is lacking in signs that are big enough and illuminated at night so one can find the various attractions and find one's way back to the hotel. Also it was very difficult to find the signs to the Turnpike. It caused me to go out of my way to finally find the Turnpike south. I'm sure many others have complained about this. Port Orleans is a fine place but, here again, the directions to the resort are not very clear off the highway."

"My son has asthma and the room was dusty upon my arrival. There was dust on the night stand and around the beds on the floor. I had to run out for his medication because of this. I am aware that dust is something we all live with, however, it did not appear that the beds were vacuumed around as I found a brush and hair clips under the bed that did not belong to us."

"You seemed to be a bit short staffed. There was some waiting in line for food and beverage. Also, the beer keg was empty in the commissary area. I'll give you guys the benifit of the doubt since we were between hurricanes."

"Our stay spanned Hurricane Charley's arrival and the resort handled it admirably. No loss in power...some closure of food court, but it was opened again after the major part of the storm passed. Disney gave us an extra day on our tickets in lieu of the shortened park hours. Would have liked to have had a fridge in the room. I was surprised there was no high speed internet available. While most people might not need it if they are on vacation, some of us need to stay connected. Would have been expecially nice in view of the hurricane."

"The man that checked us in was absolutely wonderful. He was very accomodating and warm, as were the others that worked at the front desk. The hotel grounds were gorgeous, and the rooms were very pretty. The only drawback was that we didn't get maid service one day and the food in the courtyard is way overpriced. I also work for NASA and I couldn't get an internet connection from my wireless laptop. I really think that there needs to be a business center where people can get access to their email and use a facsimile machine. I also think there needs to be a store that has a bigger variety of food 24 hours. (With some medical supplies llike bandaids cold compresses, over the counter medicine) Thanks!! Overall....The hotel is beautiful, and my daughter loved the pool. (especially the Dragon slide)"
