Many lodgers enjoyed the hotel's location. They described it as central, and close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road.
The hotel's staff were the source of numerous compliments by reviewers, who characterized them as friendly, accommodating and helpful with suggestions and directions. One patron remarked, "I have traveled for many, many years and must say, the staff here is amazing. The kindness, friendliness, charm and professionalism is rare and a true gem".
