In 1878 the pristine glacial valley where Telluride exists today was called Columbia. The 60-acre mining camp soon grew into a historic two because of its location. -Everyone seemed to feel Columbia was the Only Place to be- Will Webb-1878. The named was changed a few years later, there are lots of stories why, but the memories of that glorious era have now been unearthed.
