"When we arrived with your e-mailed reservations and receipt for paid up rooms (2) we were told the motel had not received our reservations and the only thing left was two adjacent smoking rooms in spite of the resevervations of non-smoking rooms. We had to settle for what they would let us have. We called customer service at free hotel guide at the number on our reservations and after being on hold for a long time talked to a representative who talked to the motel clerk who promised to clear it all up at no extra cost in the morning.
We found out the next morning that the motel's computer had been down the night before and no reservations could come through.
This was not your fault, and you helped us by FAXing the information to the motel for which we are grateful.
The motel had lots of little maintenance problems but they were attended to promptly. It is an old building under constant use and we understood.
The staff were wonderful. The shuttle to the medical district was great.
We are going to check about the motels where other people stay in Birmingham to see how this one compares, but I think we will be staying there again in a couple of weeks.
Having hairdryers, coffee makers, and irons in the rooms was good, too."
