"We tried for 3 days to change our arrival date from 12/20 to 12/21. (And we left 12/25. You had our dates wrong, but we did keep changing them!) We couldn't get thru, so we had the concierge call from Mexico City. He said we'd have to call them during the week. We had the concierge in our hotel in Puebla call their reservation # and change the date, making sure they kept our room with park view. They never got the message, wrote "No Show" on our card, charged us for that night (that's fine) but gave us a room with no view, right on the street so we couldn't even open the curtains. Terrible plumbing; bad shower, slow toilet, bad smelling water in small sink, ragged towels and not enough, no hangers after asking several times. We got wire ones the last day.
I would recommend the hotel to young people who don't care about a room but like the convenient location. But not to friends!
I have stayed at Las Golandrinas (2002) and found it too noisy, being in the first room as people come into the open courtyard. I also stayed at the Parador (1996), which was loud because we could hear everyone talking in that interior courtyard as if they were in our room. I'm still looking for a quiet place that's convenient and charming.
We found the 10-day requirement to cancel a bit much. I was with a travel agent, and she thought 3-day was the norm. Would you please look into the reason the hotel front desk people didn't get our message that we were arriving a day late? Did they really have a room with park view? They offered to put us in a better room, but never did.
The hotel was surprisingly quiet, considering we were on the first floor, just off a courtyard. We never heard anyone in the hotel. The place could add a star if it updated the bathroom and just added charm with interesting paint, fabrics and a little artwork here and there. The high ceilings and ceiling fan made it cool enough.
Thank you for your concern. What have other people said? Susie Van Pool, Washington D.C."
