"My friend and I loved the stay at the Y. Firstly, the front desk staff was so welcoming and helpful. Secondly, the entire ambiance (sp) of the front office was friendly, low key and inclusive. We both felt like we belonged. Thirdly, the little coffee shop was open early (6:40 when we came down, and it was not due to open until 7 am), so we were able to get a coffee before our sea plane flight back to the Island. The man who ran the shop, and the people who were there at the same time, and who seemed to be hotel staff, were also friendly, helpful and inclusive. This is the first time I have stayed in a hotel in Vancouver where I didn't feel like I was in the front counter staff's way. And, lastly, we both felt very safe. Somehow this was conveyed by the feeling in the lobby. For two women travelling alone, this is very important. Thank you very much. We will both be staying again with our respective families in the future. Also, we are both teachers who will pass this information on to our schools. The security key for the elevator is a great idea. (See question 8 below. Because my first name is unusual, and I live in a small town, please do not use my first name. Use Lynn instead.)"
