"The entire hotel reeked of heavy cigarette smoke. When the reservation was made, I requested a non-smoking room and did so for health reasons. We had a late arrival and needed to go to sleep for an early departure the following morning. In bed at 11 p.m., awakened at 12:37 a.m. with the impression that the cigarette smoke was worsening to the point that the entire ventilation system made it seem we were in a smoke-filled bar. I finally got out of bed at 5:30 a.m., showered, dressed and made my family do the same. I left a complaint at the front desk and vacated the premisesas quickly as possible. All of our belongings were saturated with the smell of tobacco, as did our car after loading everything up to leave. I have had a headache and difficulty breathing along with coughing for two days now. Once I arrived home on Sunday, I had to immediately wash everything we had. I have never in my life been in a hotel such as this. I will NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE. I strongly recommend that you discourage people from staying in this facility. Had it not been for this serious problem, it might have been okay to stay for the night. There is something terribly wrong with any hotel or other business that caters to the public and runs a facility that force feeds tobacco smoke (second-hand or otherwise) to customers. I fully intend to write to the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as the city staff with the above complaints."
