"I would recommend this hotel to someone who is not expecting the usual standard of a Shangri-la. It seems the chain doesn't standardise as much as it could between one operation in one city and the next and as a result expecting certain standards from the name is not realistic.
The hotel was taken over with a conference for the main oposition party in INdonsesia and as a result the hotel was in chaos being full to capacity and many of the rooms with occupancy of three or fourt people. It would have been better for them to close the hotel for this conference and alo me the chance to book somewhere else. Service was poor and the sheer volume of people in the place meant there was not enough staff to take care of people. Although i was on the HOrizon floor and there are certain amenities afforded to regular guests here which did help. THe lifts were too crowede to be able to (cont...)"
